The modern masters are significat figures in the architecture world. People like Le Corbusier, Mies Van der Rohe and Walter Gropius are gamechangers. They completely transformed and revolutionized architecture through their brilliant design and principles. Through this project, we were required to study these modern masters thoroughly and through that, produce diagrammatic models that translates our understanding of them.

1 : History of Modern Masters
In a group of 5, we were required to choose a modern master and their building. Our group chose the Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto and his famous Villa Mairea. The first part of the project required us to produce a presentation slide that would help us to better understand the architect's background and his works.
Julia Hill is an american environmentalist that made a huge impact in saving the environment. She is best known for living in an 18 ft redwood tree for over 2 years in order to save the forest from destruction. through deeper analysis on her background, personality, needs and wants, we then proposed a tree house like picnic pavillion that shelters her in her natural habitat.

2 : Site Analysis
For this project, we visited The Eagle Ranch Resort // Port Dickson to conduct our analysis. This will then later be our actual site for our picnic pavilion and retreat house in Project 3. The students were split into two groups respectively and were given a site to study on. After a few days of analysis, recordings and observations, we were then told to produce a presentation slide explaining the conditions of our site.

Further developing from the previous picnic pavillion project, we were required to propose a retreat house based on our previous client. Proposed design should be based on basic design principles, environmental studies and analysis on our given site.
